We were delighted to once again offer a warm welcome to Hannah Bardell, MP for the Livingston area, to our offices and factory on Friday 16th November. This was the 3rd visit that Ms. Bardell had made to our campus in recent years. It was a good opportunity to show her the progress which has been made by Edinburgh Instruments and sister companies since being acquired by the Techcomp Group 5 years ago and to let her see our growing facilities and learn about our future development projects from the Techcomp Research and Engineering Centre (TREC) also based in Livingston.
Over the last 5 years, Techcomp has seen a 300% increase in the number of employees based at the Livingston site, tripling the size of the team since 2013.
Since Ms. Bardell’s visit in 2017, Techcomp has acquired 3 buildings at Kirkton Campus in Livingston totalling 36,000 sq ft of office, production, and R&D space. Techcomp is not only investing in space but in high quality production facilities by providing 3D printing technology, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Simulation and Modelling Software, and CNC Precision Machining Technology.
Ms Bardell commented that it was great to see the investment that had been made by Techcomp within Livingston and the subsequent progress that had been made within the businesses. She was equally impressed with the jobs created in the local area, the global reach of where the products are shipped to and the fact that the businesses continue to go from strength to strength.
During a short presentation, Techcomp Europe CEO, Chris O’ Connor, shared the details of our growth over the last 5 years with all employees and the morning was rounded off with a celebratory cake.
